Due to a need to display vital market data irrespective of whether a PC is actually been used, the Windows power saving features are typically disabled on trading floors with the result that monitors are often powered up 24/7. The highly efficient SmartPower module via its matching occupancy sensor automatically cuts power to LCD monitors, phone chargers, desk lamps etc when a trader leaves the desk, restoring power instantly on their return. The projected power savings on a trading floor are significant even before taking into account potential savings in air conditioning use and monitor life, with payback typically within 12 months. SmartPower can be installed as part of a new power installation or retro fitted to existing trading desks with modular power systems. |
